Peter and Paul Fortress

The Peter and Paul Fortress is a place of foundation of St. Petersburg. The first stone to the foundation of the fortress was put on May 27 in 1703. A wooden church was constructed in the center of fortress in honor of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul on order of Peter The Great who wanted to be buried there. Was he?
